JOB TITLE: Communications Intern
REPORTING TO: Director of Media, Whitestone FC
DEPARTMENT: Media & Communications
LOCATION: Whitestone, Queens, NY (Local candidates only)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Whitestone FC is seeking a motivated Communications Intern to assist with social media management, content creation, and team outreach. This is an unpaid position, but we will sign off for college credit. We are specifically looking for college students in the Whitestone/Queens area who are passionate about soccer and building a community-driven brand.  

Please Note: College credit for this internship is subject to approval by your college or university’s credit approval department. Whitestone FC will provide necessary documentation to assist with the credit approval process, but final determination rests with your institution.

 This internship requires 3-10 hours of work per week, based on your flexibility. The start date is February 10, 2025, with availability required on February 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM for the first round of tryouts for our UPSL men's team.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Create and schedule engaging content for Whitestone FC’s social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok.
• Assist with writing and editing press releases, newsletters, and website updates.
• Develop creative campaigns to grow Whitestone FC’s digital presence and community engagement.
• Support game-day communications, including live updates and post-match reports.
• Collaborate with the team to communicate with sales representatives and partners, such as Diaza, for jerseys and team gear.
• Help with sponsorship and partnership outreach efforts.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of community events and initiatives.

WHO YOU ARE:

• A college student based in Whitestone, Queens, or nearby areas.
• Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
• Passionate about soccer and storytelling.
• Familiar with social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, with an interest in audience engagement.
• Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work evenings and weekends for matches and events
